PRODUCT FEATURES

You're covered as soon as you cross the South African border. Our Single Trip and Annual Multi-Trip options cover trips of up to 90 consecutive days.

Our annual multi-trip policy covers you for individual trips of up to 90 consecutive days, with an overall limit of 180 days of travel per period of insurance.

The optional Winter Sports extension provides up to 21 days of cover when training for or participating in winter sports.

The optional Hazardous Activities Extension provides up to 21 days of cover when training for or participating in Hazardous Activities.

You may delay when your annual multi-trip policy starts by up to 90 days from the purchase date.

You will be sent an email reminder before your policy expires. It is important you review the cover provided to ensure the policy continues to meet your needs.

You can buy another annual multi-trip policy online, up to 3 months before your existing policy expires.

If you want your new annual multi-trip policy to follow on from your existing policy, then you will need to set the start date of your new annual multi-trip policy to start on the date immediately after your existing policy expires. For example, if your existing annual multi-trip policy expires on 31st January, then you will need to set your new annual multi-trip policy to start on 1st February.

Our policies are available to customers who are 79 years of age or under.

Unfortunately, no. Policy holders must be at least 18.

You can purchase your travel insurance as late as the day your travel begins, provided that it’s before the start of your journey.

There is no cover for professional sports through Chubb travel insurance policies.

 

OVERSEAS MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND CLAIMS

Follow these 3 steps to make a claim:

  1. Download our medical (or non-medical claims) form,
  2. Complete the relevant form in full, and
  3. Submit it with all supporting documentation (stipulated in the policy wording and on our Claims page) to myclaim@chubb.com for assessment.

GENERAL

Cover is offered worldwide excluding North Korea, North and South Sudan, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and any other OFAC-sanctioned countries.

Your embassy letter will be emailed to you with your policy schedule. If you haven’t received your fulfilment pack, contact us on +27 800 467 467 or chubb.travel@digicall.co.za.

Your Chubb policy only covers you during leisure hours and will not cover you for any injury / illness that occurs while you are working. For a quote on corporate travel insurance, please ask your broker about Chubb Corporate Travel Insurance.

No, you don’t need a medical certificate to purchase a Chubb Travel Insurance policy. But travelling against the advice of a doctor is excluded entirely.

The excess is the first amount of a claim that you must pay. Chubb does not cover this.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your policy, you may, within 14 days of receiving your policy contact us and we will cancel it issuing a full refund, provided that you have not already travelled and no claims have been reported or paid.

After 14 days you may cancel your policy, but no refund will be applied.

Yes, Chubb Travel Insurance will provide cover for emergency dental treatment for the relieve of pain when travelling abroad.

LUGGAGE AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

If Personal Property is Lost, damaged or stolen during Your JourneyWe will pay Repair and Replacement Costs up to the amount stated in the Schedule of Benefits

Yes, but please be aware that they are subject to terms, conditions, and limits.

You can claim the cost of obtaining replacement credit cards and the personal legal liability arising from their illegal use if you comply with all card conditions prior to and after the theft.

SPORTS EQUIPMENT

You can purchase Chubb’s Sports Equipment Cover add-on that will cover your sporting equipment if it’s damaged or stolen during your journey (up to a value of R15,000 – except while in use) and provided that you are playing as an amateur.
